Inspection Equipment
At Buell Automatics, quality is a part of everything we do. Our dedication to producing high-quality products begins with our operators, extends throughout the production process, and culminates in our shipping department, which serves as the final line of defense. We utilize inspection equipment that enables us to monitor and inspect the quality of parts in real-time. This helps us meet customer needs, minimize defects, and reduce costs.
Inspection Equipment
We use a variety of inspection tools and technologies, each piece of equipment helping us to deliver accurate and repeatable results.
Inline Inspection
One main aspect of our quality management process is inline inspection. With this method, our inspectors check parts directly at the machine during production. By catching and fixing issues in real-time, we can maintain consistency and prevent defects from propagating further.

Standard Equipment
We use a variety of standard measuring equipment, including micrometers, thread gages, thread plugs, pin gages, indicators, and ring gages. These gauges are calibrated and specific for each job.
Mitutoyo Profilometer
A measuring instrument that determines the surface profile of a material. It can be used to measure the roughness, curvature, and flatness of a surface

Keyence
Our Keyence system uses high-def imaging, providing clear and detailed measurements. It performs inspections quickly and consistently to ensure that every part meets the necessary specifications.
Starrett Comparators
Starret comparators are a fundamental part of our inspection process. These tools are easy to use and provide measurements with an accuracy of approximately .0005”. Their versatility makes them preferred for inspecting parts of different shapes and sizes.

Oasis
The Oasis system organizes the inspection process. With a measurement rate of six times per second, it significantly reduces inspection time while maintaining an accuracy of ±0.0001. This system identifies errors quickly, minimizing the number of rejects.
Tesa Micro Hite 3 Contact Shop Measuring
For manual measurements, we use the Tesa Micro Hite 3. It is a reliable and straightforward tool used directly on the shop floor, allowing operators to perform measurements close to the production process. Its simplicity and accuracy make it an asset in our quality control toolkit.

Cleaning and Preparation
We also focus on preparing parts for shipment. Our Durr Ecoclean Automated Parts Washer cleans, degreases, and removes all foreign matter from parts, getting them ready for delivery. We also use a Sonicor Agitation Washer that uses the power of ultrasonic technology to remove dirt, grime, and contaminants from heavy-duty parts or parts that are not effectively cleaned by agitation alone.
Quality
At Buell Automatics, customer satisfaction is regularly evaluated to support our quality management processes and team. Our quality process begins with our sales and engineering teams to ensure we can consistently run the parts in the most cost-effective way to meet customer demands, while auditing the production process for efficiency. Once approved, jobs are turned over to our setup team to evaluate the machine and job layout for capability.
Once approved by the setup and quality departments, our operators and quality inspectors examine parts directly at the machine. Our inline inspection method detects and resolves defects immediately. This method ensures quality and reduces costs for our customers. To support this process, we utilize a range of inspection equipment, operated by our machine operators and quality inspectors.
When you choose Buell Automatics, you’re choosing a partner dedicated to quality at every step. Let us show you how our inspection processes and equipment can make a difference for your next project.
